What Do Treatments Involve?

Both Bowen & Emmett Therapies are non invasive treatments where the therapist applies light pressure, and light pressure moves or switches  over specific points of the body, affecting the soft tissue.

The Bowen Technique releases work on fascia and muscle tissues aiding the bodies recovery from injury, and for many, the on going complaints suffered.

The Emmett Technique is believed to interact with the body as described in the science of Critical Point Analysis, which identifies that “In any highly complex system there is a specific, critical point at which the smallest input will result in the greatest change” For example a light touch on a small cog can halt the largest engine.  The Emmett Technique therapist can be compared to a body electrician who has the knowledge to locate these critical points and re-set them with the correct stimulation.  The stimulation is registered by the receiver’s nervous system and their brain responds by sending new instructions back to affect the physical state of the localized area.  Results are often instantaneous physical change.

The techniques can both be applied through light clothing and are non invasive to the patient.  The affects can be immediate. It is recommended that 3 initial treatments to establish relief and recovery.  Treatments cost £30 and are approximately 1 hour appointments.

Acupuncture is obviously more invasive and involves the use of sharp, thin disposable sterile needles that are inserted into the body at very specific points. The points chosen are bespoke to the client and are believed to adjust and alter the body’s energy flow into healthier patterns.  Acupuncture is used to treat a wide variety of illnesses and health conditions.  Initial consultation is free of charge, and with treatment may take up to 1hr 30 minutes, follow ups are approximately 40 minutes the cost of each being £35

The Manual Lymphatic Drainage treatment is an Emmett Technique procedure.  It can be applied through light clothing and is non invasive.  The treatment is very relaxing and may provide relief to many ailments, it can also just be a tool to boost the bodies immune system aiding the release of toxins which may be harmful.  The treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes and costs £30

3 Reasons to use Emmett Technique

The Emmett Technique has been proven to provide a quick easy release to many physical issues.

The Technique uses light touch to specific area’s of the body initiating a sedation of muscles and muscle groups. It encourages the science of Critical Point Analysis.  Critical Point Analysis is identified in any highly complex system. When there is a specific critical point at which the smallest input will result in the greatest change, where the least force exerts the greatest effect (for example a light touch on a small cog can halt the largest engine).

It is with this understanding that the Emmett Technique influences the most complex system known – the human body. Working within this principle the Emmett Technique is able to affect two types of receptors, sensory and muscular, which may also activate an emotional state. These are overlapped together at specific junctions where each one can and will influence the other. The therapist is compared to a body electrician who has the power to locate these overlaps or re-set buttons. The muscle that has tripped out due to overuse or overload may only need a light pressure to re-set.

The stimulation is registered by the receiver’s nervous system and their brain responds by sending new instructions back to affect the physical state of the localized area.  The result is often instantaneous physical change.

3 Reasons to use the Bowen Technique.

Bowen has a profound effect on the fascia, as it directs fluid into the area that was previously dry. Fluidity is essential for healthy tissue, and the corresponding muscles.

The Bowen Technique is a remedial, hands-on therapy that is applied using very gentle pressure. The practitioner uses thumbs and fingers on precise points of the body to perform Bowen’s unique sets of rolling-type moves which stimulate the muscles and soft tissue of the body. There is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue and no force is used. The experience of a treatment is gentle, subtle and relaxing. It is believed that the Bowen Technique prompts the body to reset, repair and balance itself and clients report the experience of pain relief, improvement of function and recovery of energy.

The Bowen Technique corresponds with the homeopathic principles, where the body is given a very small dose and then left to respond in its own time. In the same manner, during a Bowen treatment we give small but specific input so the body can start the process of re-balancing towards its original blueprint of wellbeing. The moves during a Bowen session are gentle, non-invasive and have a relaxing effect on the person.
